They reach Karbala

On the second of Muharram, the caravan could go no further. When the Imam asked the name of the place and was told ‘Karbala,' he ordered the tents pitched: the destination had been reached.

‘Ubaydullah ibn Ziyad poured reinforcements onto the plain and placed ‘Umar ibn Sa‘d in command of the gathering army.
