Leaving Medina for Mecca

Rather than be trapped into giving an oath at the point of a sword, the Imam left Medina — the city of his grandfather — with his family, and turned toward the sanctuary of Mecca, where the shedding of blood was forbidden.

It was the first step of a journey from which he knew he might not return.
